Does anyone run this tuner and what kind of gains did they get out of it. I have a 2000 4x4 sc 5.4 and my buddy had the same truck . he purchased the Hypertech power programer 3 and never got to use it do to bad driving and now he doesnt have his truck anymore. I can get this tuner dirt cheap from him and was wondering if its worth it. I was looking at the Diablo one but hey for a 100 bucks i guess its worth a shot. Any input on this tuner would be greatly appreciated, like power gains shift points and torque.
I have heard that they help quite a bit. haven't had the funds to try one myself. For $100, you get a good tuner and it should also read codes. I gave $150 just for my code reader
I had one for my 2001 4.6l Screw, I noticed quite a bit of get up and go... Not sure if it was worth 400 bones but if I could get it for 100 bucks I'd jump all over it.
Yeah i told him next pay check and im gonna get it. From what ive been reading it seems to be about the same as the others. For a hundred bucks i figure ill try it out. Ill keep you updated when i get it and try it out.
I have one for my 98 5.4L the only thing I could program is to power tune and firm shifting. You will notice a difference. Will your buddy let you plug it in and check the menu or take a test drive?
Well he never used it. Its in the box new just sitting there. He picked it up for his truck but then wrecked it about 2 weeks later. So now he needs money and said i could have it for a hundred bucks. I should have it friday or sat when i see him.
I don't have the one you're talking about. I do have the Superchips and have tried the 87 and Performance settings. There is a great deal of difference in power. I've also used it to read SES light codes for friends. It's worth it for $100!!! Just compare on Ebay. I got my tuner there and it was $275 shipped.
I got the truck all tuned sat. Boy can i tell a dif. I only set it for the stock tune because i have a tank of 87 in now. IM really happy with this tuner the truck feels great and shifts nice. Im gonna put some 91 in next week and set it up again and see if i can feel a dif. Sure hard to stay off the gas now. Ill keep ya posted....
