Towing Question

Hello;

I have a question, I just bought a 01 Expy 5.4L V8 2WD. A friend of mines asked me if I could tow his 95 Toyota 4Runner for him.

This would be my first time using my Expy for towing. Would my Expy be able to tow is Toyota for 300 plus miles? From N.Cali to S.Cali, about 376 miles.

Need info on how fast I should be driven with the flat bed with his 4runner attached to it, and what gear to use when going up some hills.

I also want to get an oil change before we head out this weekend. Whats the best Synt brand Oil to use and what grade.....

Thanks,
Rootz408

HaHa! You could tow his truck even if he had all four wheels locked on the ground. But since the flatbed sounds like a trailer... Drive it on so the engine is in the front of the axles of flatbed, to put more weight over the tongue like most flatbeds are designed for. If you get into hills, just take it out of overdrive. Tow at any legal speed. You'll hardly know it'sthere. Expy are great haulers. Even with the 3.55

Most like Mobil 1. Use the factory spec for weight....probably 5w-30.
