ok, i am putting in 2 12 inch polk momo subs in a box i am building (wedge hatch style) in the back of my 95 bronco. the angle of the subs is the same as the rear glass. i have 2 profile amps. one for the subs and one for the polk 6.5's and 5x7's. (the head is an alpine). so my question is where do i mount the amps? the box ideally would be right up against the back seat (firing backward). the box isnt big enough to fit the amps on the sides(wedges). should i build some larger side plate things to mount on the side of the box, or is there room on the back of the box? i would like to have the amps hidden, but wont the overheat behind the box? HELP ME!!!
one more question. the mono amp for the subs is 300 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms or 420 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms. i understand to achieve 2 ohms, you wire 2 4 ohm subs in paralell. that being said, does the 420 watts get split to a 210/210 for each sub? or since they are woth wired together share the power?

Cut a board as large as the back of your seat, carpet, and mount.
If you attach to the box, not recommended, but if you do, make sure you attch the amp to another board first. Never mount an amp directly to the box.
so would i be better off buying 2 amps? both of them rated at 300 watts or will the difference not be noticable enough?
Depends?
Is the amp over or under rated? Some brands over-rate, some under-rate. If it's an Alpine, you're fine. If it's a profile, lightning, sony, something like that then you're not.
The boss is probably way overrated. The actual outputs is probably between 600 and 700.
I used to have a 1000 watt boss... there's no way it was pumping 1000 watts.
Look up the prices on www.ecoustics.com for the same model #'s. The prices there are lower... and sounddomain.com / cardomain.com will match their prices when you fill out a price match request. The OV4-600 was the one I was fixing to order until I found a US Acoustics open box on ebay for $85.
