Compressor Replacement

I'm replacing my compressor on my '92 F150 this weekend. I've installed a new orfice tube, accumulator already and have verified I have no leaks in the system currently. When I purchased the new compressor yesterday, the salesman informed me it was a dry compressor and I would need to install a 6oz bottle of pac oil before I used it. I have never added oil directly to a compressor. I need some instructions on how to do this. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just pour the oil in one of the compressor ports.

It is ok to put oil directly into the compressor but I would only put 2 ozs. in the suction side and the rest in the accumulater. After all lines are on and before starting the system turn the compresser clutch by hand several revolutions to unload any oil that might be on top of the pistons.
