hi guys,I have a 2002 f150 5.4 liter 4x4 extended cab.
Lately when I get in my truck after work and start my truck....it doesn't start on the first try!!!!why does it only do this at the end of the day?any ideas why it would be hard to start??
Thank You
I think Sputz might have the right idea about the fuel pump. The fuel pump may be slow to build pressure.
Next time, before you start it, cycle the key from off to run a few times without cranking the starter then see if it starts right away. That primes the fuel system.
Yeah you'd think it would do it in the morning too.
That's a strange one.
It would still be nice to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to it and see what it shows when it wont start.
Maybe your truck thinks you didn't work hard enough and you dont deserve to go home yet?
make sure you getting vacume to your fuel pressure regulator if you are check your regulator i have seen this problem on many ford 460's i dont know what ou have It is kinda odd that it only does it in the afternoon
