Rear Axle Assembly Interchange
I want to do away with rear ABS which don't work anyway & keep my dash warning indicator light lit constantly. I also am fed up with the "slop" in the spider gears. A repair Kit [unavailable from FoMoCo as a kit, but. . ] available from GM, Mopar & Dana - Spicer Corp costs more than I can get replacement earlier, FoMoCo, Hotchkiss type, 9" rears for. The brakes & all that swap over & everything else looks like it will workout just fine.
Has anybody else done this "upgrade" to their 87 -96 F150 ?
If so how did it go for you? What should I watchout for? Can I get a driven gear for Mazda 5gear OD, speed sensor matching a 3.00 or 3.25:1 ratio?
This is my Shop Truck & Beater. I deal in 61 -79 F Series. I specialize in the 65 - 66 "Slicks" & 73 - 79 Effies. I thought this 88 F150 would be more equal to 73-79s, but it just doesn't have the durability of my earlier Ford F Series trucks IMHO.
Any Input Will Be Welcomed

Anyhow, get a 77-86 F150/Bronco 9", 80-86 is guarnteed to be a direct bolt in swap, brakes included, 77-79 should be 31 spline, don't know if the spring perches will match up however..
IIRC, you will have to shorten the rear driveshaft 3".
