bad fuel pump
it is a 93 e250 with a 5.8 in it. it is running lean because the exhaust glows red and it backfires in the cylinders and cuts out when you hold the gas pedal to the floor. we thought maybe a clogged cat and replaced it but still does it. then we tested the fuel psi and at idle it would be over 40 but when it is revved up, the psi drops way down. that is what he told me. i did not see it. we replaced the fuel filter too. would this be a bad fuel pump. the fuel regulator is pretty new too.
