The light switch on my '91 F350 is not working right. I have replaced the switch and checked all the terminals inside the wirering cluster.
When I pull the **** half way out...NO parking or running lights come on. Pull it all the way, I do get headlights.
Now, if I push it in very slightly (wiggling it) I can get all the lights on. But I should be getting my park/running lights with the switch out half way, and all lights when out all the way, but it's not working that way.
So where is the connection problem??? Please help.
Could be the plug is loose on the back of the switch, or (more likely) the switch is worn out. Coincidentally, there could also be a bad connection somewhere else in the wiring, but I suspect the switch.
I've checked to make sure the plug is on tightly. I have also tried 3 different switches now, and even swapped out the pull shaft on the switches. Same problem is still happening.
Headlights when pulled all the way out, no park/running lights at the half way mark. I only get all the lights if I pull the switch all the way out, then push it back in very slightly until all lights are working.
I had the same problem in my 87 F-250, it turned out to be the relay in the engine compartment, it should be bolted to the inner fender wall on the drivers side, next to the master cylinder
Hey Guys, Sorry I haven't replied, but my PC was out for some upgrades.
I have not fixed my lighting problem yet. Still pulling out switch and pushing it halfway back in to get all lights working. I guess I should check the relay in the engine compartment as well.
had something similar to that in my 87 f-250, turned out it was a loose wire on the switch harness itself, if i wiggled the switch, it would come on, then goin down the road, the lights would turn off suddenly, then got mad, and started beatin on the dash, and the lights would turn on for a while, then go off, the terminal on the wire was loose, and needed to be replaced
