p1780 is the code for the overdrive on/off switch/circuit on the gear shift lever.It indicates and open or short or bad switch maybe.
Could also indicate a bad coast clutch
are you seeing any other codes with this?
does your overdrive indicator come on in the I/P when you push the button?
