Things that go "bump" ???
Hello friends of FTE....
Has anyone experienced these symptoms?
Feels like hard shifting, sorta like when I removed the accumilator spring from a TH350 tranny in my Pontiac, but not as solid a jerk. I feel it on the shifts during light acceleration, as well as when I come to a complete stop. Goes away during hard acceleration. KINDA feels like a bad motor mount....but not up in that area....somewhere mid ship (so to speak). In fact, it feels like it's coming from the mid to rear part of the driveline. I've looked at the motor mounts, tranny mount and axle mounting hardware. Everything looks solid, nothing loose or moving around from what I can see.
I have one last thought....I see a CV type of boot on my driveshaft. What is that for? Is there a CV joint in there? If so, could it be failing and causing the bump I feel?
As always....any help would be greatly appreciated.
