I just bought a 1994 Ford Bronco Xl 5.0L with a Manual Tranny and one of the first things that I would like to do is get some tires and rims. I need to find out what is the max size and what offset. I was thinking about 16" rims, but I don't know what width. I would like to eventually get 35" and a lift later, but for now it has stock hwy tires. I don't want any rubbing what so ever. Also, I am thinking about a catback system. What is the best sounding one out there. I don't want one that sounds like I'm farting down the road. I need some input. Thanks!
32x11.50x15 will fit nicely on stock rims. The stock rim size is 15x7.5 inches but the backspacing I do not know. You'll have to measure on one of your stock rim. I have Dynomax highflow cats and a Flowmaster 40 series which sounds great but I heard alot of good remarks here on the Bassani headers, y-pipe w/ cats and muffler systems.
I think that I'm going with 16" Rims. I seen some today on a F150 and it looked pretty good. I was thinking about getting some MT Classic II with some 32" tires. I was thing of All Terrain tread design and I don't plan on taking the bronco into some spine-tingling places.....thats reserved for after the 6" lift. I was also thinking about going to rear disc brakes later, but I don't want to screw myself by purchasing too small of a rim.
I have MT classic 2 wheels 15x8" and BFG KO's 32x11.50x15 with a stock suspension. I did have to space out my front bumper about a 1/2" to clear the bumper and the air dam. I haven't noticed any rubbing since.
16" rims suck. you cant air them down like 15" wheels. If you want that larger rim look then move up to 17 or 18" rims. keep them 8-9"s wide. only reason to go to a 10" wide rim is if your running wider then 12.50's. I run 31" bfg KO's on 15x8 rims and have no rubbing at all.
yep, 15's are looking pretty good. I'm pretty sure that I'm going to use 15x8's (Probably MT Classic 2) and MT Baja Radial MTX 31x11.50LT. Do you all think that I shouldn't have any problems, regarding rubbing and bottoming out? What about the tire, I was also thinking of Baja Claw too. Does anyone have this particular tire? Remember that I have the stock height.
I have lots of friends that run the claw and love em. they do well in most any situation and wear decent to. road noise is light to. That size should suit you well till funds for a lift come around
I was on the Mickey Thompson website and they recommend a 31x10.50R15LT for the bronco. Would that look alright? I don't want to have tiny looking tires, I want them to look agressive and intimidating.
LOL, yep....I'll probably get that lift in the future. Right now I have a budget of about 2 grand and I wanted to get other things done to the Bronco. So, I guess my mind is pretty much made up. I'm going to get the Mickey Thompson Classic II with Mickey Thompson Baja Claw 31x10.50R15LT....they should look great and will not rub..right?
