Block heater replacement?

Block heater replacement?
I need to replace the block heater on my truck, started to leak, located just above my starter. I thought it should be easy but I am having trouble removing the previous block heater and I'm afraid of doing damage to the block. Any suggestions would help.

There is a strap of metal that flattens out when it was installed, you need to get it as loose as you can to get it out. Don't worry about the blk, unless you are chiseling on it, it will be ok. You could als punch a hole through the old heater and pry it out that way to. The strap behind will likely require pressure on it to ke from spinning, or as I just had said, poke a hole in it, you could block it that way.
