and didn't notice the fuel pump hum at first or the vibration. i knew it would probably be a stiffer ride than my 93 ranger but sometimes i think i'm on one of those vibrating easy chairs. first thought was tire balance, but the steering wheel doesn't reflect that and the goodyear weatherhandlers look brand new. u-joints seem rock solid. just seems that the vibration is coming through the seat more than the steering wheel. anybody else have this?
is that fuel pump hum typical? the dealer practically guaranteed me a new pump would fix me up.
Mine had a bad vibration and it ended up being the U-joints. I had to put mine in neutral and shake the driveshaft before the problem showed up. And my fuel pump is very noisy too. You'll get used to it or spend $$$ trying to get rid of the noise, which will probably come back anyway.

The U joints will sometimes freeze up and to inspection with them in the car feel and look rock solid but the problem which causes the vibration is one may be frozen so to speak, less flex than needed as the drive shaft turns.
