99 ext cab sub box q's

I'm new to the forums and to the whole F-150 thing, so if I am asking a question that has already been asked/answered a thousand times, please forgive me.

I just bought my truck 3 days ago. I have an Audiobahn 10" sub that was in my previous vehicle (S10 Blazer) that I would like to put under the driver side back seat of the F-150. I have slid the sub under there and it looks like I wouldn't have enough room to build a box to fit.

Do any of you have any solutions for me? Box dimensions would be great. Really need a .60-.75 cubic foot box if at all possible. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

This is what I am going with. I think its a good way to go without killing passenger room or comfort, but thats just my opinion.

Doesn't look too bad, but I'm not too keen on putting a lift kit on my seat. I have 2 kids, one of which is still in a car seat. I really don't want to have to jack my seat up any more than it already is. I think I might try to sell the Audiobahn and get a sub with a smaller mounting depth. The Audiobahn in 5", so I think something like 4" or 4 1/4" would be good. But I think that would limit me to an 8" sub which I really don't want to get. It also needs to be a dual voice coil, so I think I might be stuck without a sub in the truck.

I have a Mustang showcar (see pic below) that I could put it in, but that car is more about speed than sound. Damn it! I really want to put a 10" in this truck! Anybody have any further suggestions?
(headlights have been replaced )

Thanks. But the only one that they have for mine that looks worth a damn will require a 2" seat lift kit. That is just not an option, so I guess I will keep looking and might have to resort to putting in a 8" . Unless someone else has some suggestions.

well i would suggest taking out the whole back seat and building a custom box unless you absolutly have to keep the seat. i had 2 8" subs in my truck at one time. they wee JL audio subs in a stealth box. they sounded like a pair of 10" subs. the key is to have them fire down.

Yep, I have to keep the back seat. I have 2 youngin's.
I would like to get a stealth box, but I haven't been able to find one around here. Do you know of a site that I can go to that actually has prices for them? I read the write-up about them at JL's site, but there was no pricing information. Thanks for the help.

www.crutchfield.com has something like the stealth box. it is made by MTX and i believe you have the option of either a box with 2 8" subs or a box with on 10 inch sub. you can also choose just the box or buy the box with an amp.

I have checked out the MTX stuff before. I wasn't that impressed with it. Crutchfield's does have a QLogic enclosure for 1 or 2 8's. I had thought about getting that, but they range from $179-$249. That is mighty pricey for just an enclosure.
I would love to build my own. I had looked at the new "skinny" Pioneer sub, but the only thing I can find is a 12". That would stick out from under the seat too much though. I wish they made a 10", but oh well.

how much are you looking to spend total?? crutchfield has a audiobahn sub thats not to deep and they sound great. i still have my old stealth box but its for the new rear seat style after 1999. you might also want to check ebay. also you will not be disapointed with the 8" subs. they sound good as well cause they are firing down. the two i ahve in my stealth box sound like 10" subs. MTX is good stuff as well. the JL audio stealth boxes use to be really pricy.

Not sure exactly what I am wanting to spend. I don't want it to be too much as I am always dropping money into my Mustang. It is definetely the priority over the two. I think I might build a custom box for the stang and put my Audiobahn and amp in there. Then I will just save up for the system for the truck.
So the stealth box you have will not fit in my truck, right? I guess you have the seat that flips torwards the back instead of the front. Well, I sure do appreciate all of your help and suggestions.

I take it you have a folding forward back seat...did you ever find a box that would fit? I am in the same predicament.
