I have some questions from another thread so here they are. I don't race or run high RPM but I want to improve performance. I have stock oil configuration on my 390, 5 quarts. I don't have a windage tray, should I get one? and what would I have to do to increase the oil capacity? I live in lower Alabama where it gets stupid hot. In a month or so I'll be installing a HV oil pump, also.
Save the money for the windage tray for something more beneficial.......
like, say, nitrous!!!!!!!! yeah!! If your not racing, I dont think you would see any benefit from a tray..
If you run a HV pump, make sure you run a stronger shaft, some guys have had problems with twisting em all up. I dont run a HV myself, and have 20 psi @ hot idle, with 55psi at speed. plenty for me, and less stress on the weak shaft assy.
