1. The little red one that runs over the air intake tube up to the little gold cannister looking thing. Unplug it from the gold thing (it's the wastegate actuator) and plug the hose by pushing the boot on the end down over one of the studs on the intercooler hose clamps.
2. No, but it will feel like it did.
3. It can, and most likely will trip the SES light for overboost if you have a big chip, otherwise no.
It's not done to keep the wastegate open all the time...it's done to prevent it from opening.
