desperate-tranny failure????
ok i got my 01 350 dual 4wd auto stuck in mud and a little water last night, tried rocking it out some, did not think i was that hard on tranny
finally got pulled out, now i have no reverse and have lost 4lo??????? also feels like it is going into neutral when you put it in reverse and moves forward in neutral now
is there anything to try?
also if i am going to have to get a new tranny what is the name and e-mail of the guy that builds the indestructible ones?
thanks,courtney

Does the parking pawl lock when you put it in park? It sounds almost as though there is somwthing bent in the selector mechanism, since everything seems to be one position off. See if you can find reverse somewhere near park on the selector. Just a theory, as I'm by no means an expert on the 4R100....

I was on some muddy trails with my '97 and used a power washer to clean the mud off from under the truck. When I later tried to move it, the shift lever moved but it seemed stuck in park. I thought the brake froze up so I gave it a little more pedal and it broke loose and so far I've had no problems. It wasn't the brakes. I don't know if it's possible or not but I thought the high pressure water got in some electrical contacts.
