Airbag warning light
1999 Explorer XLS with 55,000 miles. For the 4th time (every 500 miles) the warning light flashes 3 - 7 several times, then stays solid. Dealer has replaced "wiring harness", and passenger side airbag (in seat back). Both repairs lasted @ 500 miles, and the code starts again. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem (1999 exp xlt. 4.0l sohc). Mine started at about 63,000 mi. I haven't paid enough attention to the mileage timing, but its only done it twice. Is this something a dealer has to take care of?

Airbag warning light
I went to the Dealer and asked for the Airbag codes. My wifes was a simple fuse was loss. So go to a Dealer and ask for the codes. most are simple from a fuse to just a loss wire, as they are listed faults. Why pay 50 bucks when you could try to fix it first. I saved the money and took my wife out to dinner.

Dealer replaced wiring harness, passenger side air bag. Finally said that the problem was caused because the tech didn't clear the "codes" after completing the initial repair?! Problem hasn't repeated, so far.
