Guys this thing is making me pull my hair.. I have a bad vibration when I set and idle. I feel it in the steering wheel and the brake pedal. I don't feel it so much when I am running.. My friends don't have it in there F250 PS but I sure do. I could use some input..

Do you have a stickshift? Dual mass flywheel might be going out. $$$ Get the LUK single mass flywheel unit and be done with that nonsense.
Your signature shows two trucks - a 2002 and a 2001 - but neither lists transmission. As stated above, if you have a manual tranny and a dual mass flywheel that is a possibility. In my 95 it sounded like several small individuals inside the bellhousing with hammers when it failed altogethre, it was a vibration that went away if I revved the engine and changed in tone when I pushed in the clutch pedal. If this is the case, I would look at one of the single mass conversions. I found out about the conversion two weeks AFTER I replaced mine with a factory unit. I could have saved $900 or so on parts and had a better clutch to boot.
I believe (but am not sure) the dual mass was discontinued then re-introduced in the late 90s. Hopefully someone with experience in the newer trucks will chime in.
99-2003 7.3's already have single mass flywheels behind them. That does not rule out a clutch/flywheel related problem (if silverrv's are manuals) but it does diminish the possibilities somewhat.
Been good, doing a bit of traveling for work. I am a supervisor for a maintenance shop for a large trucking company and am also doubling as a trainer for the shop personnel (mechanics and supervisors/managers) in some parts of the job. I just got back from 2 weeks in Salt Lake City, have 2 weeks vacation then a week in town (Cincinnati) then 3+ weeks in Atlanta. After that who knows?
Anyway, thanks for asking.
Back to the topic at hand, any idea why Ford would re-introduce such a pain in the foot problem as the dual mass flywheel? I HOPE it was redesigned for the 6.0.
nice to know of someone else in the area... I'm in Alexandria myself, Just a hop 'n a jump across the river... the travel thing gets old after a while, did it for 11 years globally. now I stay local, working on flight simulators at the airport, when I get the itch to travel , I hop in the sim and fly myself somewhere, LOL
The problem is in a 2002 that has an auto trany. But we have replaced the torque converter and the power steering pump. I still have the problem. My Ford dealer unhooked the trany and ran the motor and said the vibration went away. That is why we changed the torque converter.
Now who has some more ideals...????
My Mercury Mystique does the same thing constantly, we took it in and had the valve body assembly repaired, worked for about a week. The tranny in my car is porting too much fluid to the clutch pack at idle, so it strains to move (hence, the shake). Might be something to look in to...
Early 99 PSD. I have had a vibration when idleing for about 2 months now and tonite I found the source. The serpentine belt between the alternator and power steering pump is erratic, does not run smooth, jumps up and down.
Just replaced belt about the time vibration started. It almost looks like it needs a tensioner or idler pulley between alt. and ps pump to cure it. Anyone know of a fix?
