01 digital dispay problem

My daughter has an '01 F-150 that has a problem with the digital display portion of her dash (odometer,radio display, overhead temp and compass) go blank when the headlights are turned on, she was told that it was her headlight switch, she purchased a new one and I just changed it for her and no improvement. Suspect it must be a module or relay but what and where?

This may be a stupid question, but is the dimmer switch turned all of the way down?

I would also check all of the fuses.

Do the regular dash lights work?

Not Stupid!, the dimmer switch works fine, all regular lights work ok, just the "digital" display items worlk fine with the headlights off, no work when on, fuses all metered out as good. Thanks for the reply.

Having similar problems

If you find the solution to this problem. Please do post it. My odometer doesn't turn on when car is first started. Then after a little time with a right bump, it activates. Odometer is keeping milage fine, just an issue with the display. Don't want to pay $450 to replace it.
