Brake Pads
My 2002 PSD F350 has 43k on it and the front brakes make some noises once in a while. It is not the high pitched screeching noise, but sound more like a large semi's rear drum brakes making their noise. I took the wheels off the front and the pads have allot of wear left in them.
The person I bought this from did tow some heavy vehicles. Is it possible the pads are glazed?
What is the best replacement pads that are the quietest?

I'd avoid cermic brakes as I understand they may not provide enough friction if your towing and hauling. They are cooler, but heat (friction) is what stops the vehicle. I just replaced my front pads with a heavy duty Raybestos pad from NAPA for my 97 F250. They are semi-metallic, and they are very quiet. I just drove 3600 miles from WA to NE towing a 25 ft trailer over several mountain passes with no problems or noise. Around town driving has been trouble free. The only problem with the metallic brakes is they will probably wear your rotors faster. It seems there is some give and take with whatever pad type you chose.
