ok, I have an optima battery, 200 amp alternator, brand new negative cables grounded 2x to the body, and a new positive terminal, and I still have problems with power... i run 2 m3 12's on a memphis 1100D amp. It's bridged to 1 ohm so it's 1100 W RMS and it's real 1100 not some lanzar amp or something so its a lot of power.why does my still go dead sometimes and just be weird? Also, 2 more questions... Why is it important your negative wire be as short as possible? and should I run 2 gauge instead of 4 off the battery? I am running this amp and im going to run another memphis doo rspeajer amp 115w x4 rms

Probably a bad connection somewhere. Recheck all your connections, especially your grounds, scrape any paint off the metal your grounding to. Or try a different ground point. Your grounds should be at least as big as your power cables. What gauge are you using for your alternator, ground, and power?
