96 ford explorer idle problems
I have a 96 explorer that seems to be having idle problems. I have replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter, and had a fuel injector cleaning service done to it with no improvement. I have been going through the forum today and noticed that most of the cures for this problem is to clean the air bypass valve. Has anyone had luck in doing this? I am DEFINITELY not a mechanic and don't even know where to locate the valve. Can anyone help?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Jun-02 AT 07:10 AM (EST)]If you don't have a Haynes or a Chilton's, get one. It probably is your Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). Pull it off and clean it with carb cleaner. It should be location on the side of the air horn which would bypass the throttle plates.
