Quick question. Can you take some 16" rims and tires of a 1999 Ford Ranger Off-Road and put them on a Ford Explorer XLS with 15" rims and tires? Also, what kind of rims does everybody have on there explorer if they have custom rims? I want to switch my rims, any ideas from anyone and where to get them cheap?

Can I put 16" wheels on my explorer without any modifications? How big a tire can I go without lifting my explorer? What can I put on it that doesn't require anything but to take the old ones off and put the new one's on.

Like I said, they are interchangeable. A 16" will easily fit. The Eddie Bauer Series Explorer comes with 16" rims. I run 17" rims. I don't know the largest tire that it will hold, but I have a friend who is running 31's on his X and doesn't have any problems...
