Is it possible to upload a picture into an address that already exists? I know that doesn't make much sense so let me explain what I want to do.

I am assuming that when I upload a picture, the software somewhere automatically assigns it a spot on the main server and it has it's own unique address. I use this address when posting say a diagram, and as long as I leave it there, all my old posts will always pick up that diagram. Say sometime down the road I want to update the diagram to make it more clear or look better. If I delete it, then upload the new one, all the old posts with the old diagram will get the dreaded "red x" box. If I could update or load in the new picture and use the same address, then all the old posts will have the updated diagram too.

Is there way to do this? I thought maybe I could pull the old picture up, copy the url in the address bar, and then direct the software to put it back in that spot.

As long as they both have exactly the same url (address) that will work.
