BioDiesel
(especially since I sent it to her in a card VIA one of her gossipy friends) but what's the use of living if you can't have a little fun?
I've been switching between biodiesel (B20) and diesel lately, and I have to admit, with biodiesel I am getting an extra 60-80 miles out of a tankfull, in town. Also, the engine runs much smoother with biodiesel.
Biodiesel has a solvent effect which cleans out the fuel system. I've noticed that when I fill up with normal diesel after running a tank of biodiesel, the truck runs better than it did before on normal diesel, and fuel mileage is better.
Biodiesel is the way of the future, so we might as well get on board. Plus as a bonus, it supports AMERICANS, rather than the rest of the world.

In September, I'll be driving from Virginia to Oregon and back, and I know I will be searching for B20, or B100 along the way!
There are two places to get biodiesel in So. Oregon. Both are on Hwy 99. One is in Medford, Hayes Oil, across from Miles Field.
The other is at Pheonix Organic, about5-6 miles south of Hayes Oil. Both sell B-100 from a commercial supplier. Pheonix Organic will only sell it "off-road" at this time ($2.95/g in quantities under 55g - bring your own container). Hayes Oil will sell it off-road or with road taxes $2.66 or $3.16)
I usually get mine in 2 - 5gal containers for off-road & then dump it into my F-250. I had a nice chat a bit back with the weights & measures folks & odot about bio & they are pretty lax about the tax situation for right now. Its not dyed in either case, and could be considered as a fuel additive. No sales tax.
I'm not sure if Roseburg has a bio-diesel dealer yet, but I thought I heard they had. Salem & Portland both have dealers, but I don't know where they are. If you want detailed driving instructions from I-5 give me a e-mail & I'll get that to you.
BTW, Crater Lake is only 90 miles from here, and well worth looking at.
Have a fun trip,
Reid
