yes they were 5.0's. From 1998 until they started w/ the 4.6 as far as I can tell. If you do a Google search, theres all kinds of info out there.

I thought headers were fairly interchangeable w/ different factory heads after EFI started. No?

gt40p headers

they may be for most applications, but the gt40p heads have the spark plugs comeing out of the head at less an angle, and in doing so clearance from the plug boot to the header is diminished, i have mac headers from the 302 in my truck. all the plugs are ok, except for the #6 anad #7. #6 if i install a small heat shield, it will work, #7 will not work, plug boot touches the header(even with a 90 degree boot), s i'm gonna order a frpp header it fits the gt40 and gt40p heads, for a mustang, so i hope it will fit into my 91 f150 4x4 sc. it better will take 2.5 weeks to get here and $512.00. next time i take the advice of a ford only speed shop, i will get all the facts not just the ones they provide. LESSON LEARNED!

They will have a slightly diff. outlet than the F150 headers but should fit. Apparently on a 351W you need to make a little clearance on the drivers side part of the cab. Since the 302 is slightly shorter you may be fine as-is. You will need a different/ need to modify the Y pipe obviously. Hope it works out well, I've heard those are excellent heads. keep in mind this info is for factory headers, the Frpps may have slightly larger flanges-I don't know.

gt40p heasers

i thought the difference between thee 302 and 351w was height, as the 351w has a longer stroke, nervous about ordiering headers that i don't know for sure will fit.

It is and thats what I meant, I see the confusion. I don't mean shorter as in front to back, sorry. I just meant since it is shorter height wise, it might not contact as the 351 would. I don't have one of these trucks around to look at, so I was guessing. Shouldn't be too much of a problem, I'll bet it's worth it once it's together and running.
