shake while driving(sometimes)

wondering if anyone has any ideas on this, when i drive down the road my truck sometimes feels like it is shaking, but only when the go pedal is pressed only enough to keep me at coasting or maintianing a certain speed, and it seems when i let of the pedal it feels smooth. i know the wheels are balanced correctly, cause that is the first thing i thought of, i am thinking that maybe my steady bearing is going? im not sure what else to try? the raods around my city are terrible, and the stiff ride of my 350 rattles my brain, but on the smooth parts of the road, it does shake a litte. maybe this is normal for these trucks, i dont know. any help would be great.

The reason I asked is because I had a vibration come up in my truck also. I couldn't figure it out. I checked the u-joints by playing wth the drive shaft to see if there was any slackness or play and could find none. But lo and behold, when my mechanic friend took the u-joints out...there were no bearings left in 3 of the 4 ends...he said he couldn't tell by the normal checking procedure.

The only way you can check a u-joint is to remove the drivesaft and rotate the joint. If it binds or feels rough, replace the joint. If you have a two piece driveshaft, check the center support bearing.
