i have an 1988 ford f150 4x4 with the 5.0 engine. When i let my truck sit for over 24 hours it takes a little extra to start but as soon as it starts once it starts right back up for the rest of the day quicky and easily. I have replaced the main fuel filter 2 yaeras ago any other suggestions. Would a new airfilter help dont got much time anymore to mess with my truck. also one time it even stalled out until i gave it some gas for a few secnds then it ran fine and started right back up
A lot of fords crank and crank when cold and eventually catch. Its usualy due to a bad oil pressure sender, a bad TFI module, or a loose wire between the computer and either one of those.
Do know that some fords just do that... I had two nearly identical 89 mustangs (at different times) and the red one would always start on the first crank, the black one would always have to crank 3-4 rotations to "catch". Replaced a lot of stuff, never figured out why. I just labeled the black mustang as "moody".
