airbag error code

airbag error code

I have a 1998 Ranger 3.0. The airbag light has come on and it is flashing a code of 25. Does anyone have a list of codes for the airbags or know what this code is.

Looks like "Passenger Air Bag Deactivation Switch Fault".

Have you tried turning it off then back on with your ignition key in the switch on top of your dash by the defroster vents?

air bag error

Yes, I turned off the passenger side airbag, then turned the car on and off a couple of times and the problem still exists with the passenger airbag on or off.

Ranger airbag code 25

Hi Pete!
I got this code on my 98 4.0 and it drove me nuts. I finally unplugged and disassembled the little plastic module where you disable the passengers airbag. The lightbulb was burned out! I bought a new one at Radio Shack for $1.68 and soldered it onto the circuit board.
The tip is: When you start the truck, the little yellow light next to the disable keyswitch should come on for a few seconds. If it doesn't, YOU FOUND IT!
