I have just recently joined this forum, but I have ordered a truck from a dealer near me, a 2004 F-150 FX4 Supercab 6.5', with some options, MSRP $37300, I am getting the truck for $32960 before any rebates, basically invoice price. So basically, I will get the $2500 rebate on the supercab, $400 college grad rebate, and I am financing through Ford Credit, so I will get the $1000 on top of that (my dealer did not mention anything about the $1000 rebate), so I am basically getting the truck for $29960 after rebates. This sounds like a good deal to me. I was wondering what you think? Also, I posted this in another thread, but is there somewhere online to find out about the standard rates and rebates (Ford Credit Cash) that Ford Motor Credit is offering? I am trying to see what the rate is compared to my local banks. One final thing is I ordered the truck on May 17th, and the truck is just being built next week, it's scheduled to be built on the week of July 19th, does this sounds like a long wait or are most people waiting this long for their trucks? If I post the VIN number would you be able to check out that status for me? I would appreciate your help. Thanks alot.
I think you did fine; you'd have to spend a lot of time and trouble to shop for another $100-200 off, and to me it wouldn't be worth it. As for Ford's rates, they vary from region to region. You'll have to rely on your dealer to tell you what they are in your area, and then compare them with the extra $1,000 vs. what rate you can get from a local bank/ credit union. Ford Credit's rates are usually higher, but it may be worth it to get the extra grand. The monthly payment would be the determining factor for me. Of course, you can always pay off the FMCC loan whenever you want, so maybe your bank will refinance at a lower rate 30 days down the road.
thanks 1956MarkII! Also, is the wait as long as I stated above normal right now? Or is my truck backed up? And also is there any way for you to check on the status of my truck? Thanks, I appreciate your help!

Only the dealer that ordered your truck can check the status of it. As for delivery time, it varies greatly from dealer to dealer. It's not how long it takes Ford to build it, it's what they'll give to any one dealer in the way of inventory. I might be able to get a truck within 3 weeks; the dealer down the road might have to wait 6 months. You're looking at 8-10 weeks, and that's not really all that unusual.
thanks again, you have been a big help, and as for the ford credit cash, is that a national offer, or just a regional offer, as I bought my truck in zip code 12125 in NY, so does the offer apply in this region if it is regional, thanks!

The FMC cash is available nationally, even in New Lebanon Center!
