From reading the posts about people's rebuilds I'd say $3000 is a good ballpark for a basic rebuild including some machine work. 'Course you could spend less or more. I'd probably try to have $4000 on hand for any overrunns.

it is almost cheaper to buy a remanufactured motor, and you would have a warrenty with it .

$3000 to $4000 is a bit high I think. For my 352 HIPO rebuild it cost me only $1600. This included crane cams powermax 343901, Edlel RPM peformer, edel carb, headers. havent dyoned it yet but I have raced with it and wow what a difference from stock. I personally prefer higher revving small FE's to the larger ones they seem to do better in racing. I havent lost a street race yet. I havent took it to the track yet so dont have any numbers. Tire wear is starting to become an issue. I burn out in every gear except 4th where I can chirp the tires. I still cant get used to the power I have now. I got a warning from a cop for "accerlating way too dangerously" but that hasant stopped me.=)

i have a 390 well i have quite a bit in it. it really depends on what you want. for a mild hop up it wouldn't be to bad 1000 or so, but a higher performance build, such as mine, edelbrock heads, forged pistons, adjustable valve train, nos, etc would be lot more expensive. it basically boils down to what i said earlier what you want tfrom your engine. i can run high 7's in the eighth mile, thats in a 74 F-100.

Ah its a bit more then a mild hop dude. I think I have at least 100 more HP and maybe 80 or 90 more ft lbs. My price included head work as well.

1500 is a fair round about estimate........If you do it your self...not for performance but to just recondition and maybe put a small cam. For 3000 thats like stage one for performance you can get alot out of 3000 dollars.

what kind of truck do you have and can you give me the info on the stuff you did to your engine and what kind of gears you have in the rear. I wouldn't mind my truck doing that, especially a 352!
