1991fseries; it's been 10 years since i've been inside the box. I think i placed shims under the snap ring and tapped the shaft with a lead hammer, the bearing came off easy. I remember the bearing was a # 308L, standard was 7 ball. They make a 11 ball as this bearing gets pushed by the taper (input) bearing, bad thing when the bearings made for radial loads. Make an extra shim if the cluster has extra end clearance. Set the synchro clearance .010" less than the minimum (less travel before engagement).Add new fork Nylon pads. Make input shaft gasket shims to jet .004" input
shaft end play. If the shifter top is like new you can "speed shift" the 435 after rebuild.
I beat my 435 with 6 rebuilds for 843,000 miles. Good luck, Carl. .........o&o>.........
