will a 2.3 Tranny work with a 5.0 engine??

so doesn't anyone know if the 2.3 tranny will work with the 5.0 engine???

I don't think it would physically bolt up, and if it did, it wouldn't last for more than a day behind the 5.0's power.

Thanks for the reply, I'm asking for a friend, I wasn't sure myself but was thinking if it did bolt up it wouldn't be as strong as the original one he has
