Rebuilding 94 5.0 engine

my 5.0 has 208,000 miles and i am rebuilding it. im looking at this SUMMITT rebuild kit for the HYPEREUTECTIC kit. will this kit be strong? because forged is out of my leauge. this kit contains

cast sterling hypereutectic pistons, speed pro piston rings, main, cam, and rod bearings, standard volume pump, gaskets, freeze plugs.

i figured while im at it i would replace the vavles and valve seats. Also beings though so much milage do you think the connecting rods are alright? this engine doesnt burn oil or anything, and is top of line for milage. i figured the crank is good so the rods are prolly too.

So does the HYPEREUTECTIC kit a good idea?

Hyper pistons are fine unless you plan on running a supercharger.I would send the crank out and have it turned, just remember to order the right size bearings.I would also recomend having the rods checked and machined, again make sure you get the right size bearings. If you are going to keep the vehicle for a while I would definitely do the above. If your sending the block out for work, have the mains line bored,it's not unusual to have some wear or tapering in the mains with high mileage.I would also recomend a good valve job with new valves springs and keepers. It really would be a bitch to drop a valve and ruin a new engine.Just remember you can spend a little more and do it right the first time,or go cheap and hope you don't have problems.I speak from experience. If it is a fuel injected engine, send your injectors out and have them serviced or replace them.Replace, check all the sensors before firing it up.Also I would replace all cooling hoses and get the radiator checked along with a new water pump, thermastat.Again,it's cheap insurance.

Good luck,
Billy

Rebuilding 94 5.0 engine

I am getting a new engine for my truck a jasper 5.0 mine has about 280,000 miles plus and I started to make more noise then i wanted and i don't have the time or exp to rebuild a engine for myself. Your truck could go a while longer if you don't drive like me or my father. WOT for about 1-2 hours at a time alot more then once a month.

For the price it is almost worth it to just go with a rebuilt engine. I checked with Jasper and I think I found a better deal with Central Coast Mustang. Brand NEW engine with GT40P heads, Headers, and Hyper Pistons with Ford Motorsport Cam for 2300.00 including shipping. Check out thier website www.centralcoastmustang.com. For 320HP it's the best deal I found especially it being a new engine not rebuilt....
