Your better of starting at the source, there is a wire ran to the key, tumbler, when you put the key in it grounds this wire, turning on the buzzer.just pull the cover on the steering collum from around the switch and clip the little wire.make sure the wire is not touching any metal(tape it) or it will still ding.
I've unplugged it on my current 93, my former 89 BII and former 90 Ranger. I have had no problems whatsoever in doing so. Ok, I have locked my keys in a few times and left my lights on, but that's what jumper cables and a lockout box are for, right? To me there are few things more annoying than doing something in your truck with the radio on and the doors open and having to listen to that annoying ding.
Yeah, its the little grey one on my 95,yours should be the same.Besides, there is only one wire ran to the tumbler where you put the key in.If you can find where its ran to you just unplug it and your done.
