trouble with my ford
YES YOU DO HAVE TO CHECK PUSHROD LENGTH WHEN INSTALLING INCREASED RATIO ROLLER ROCKER ARMS.
Your stock length will work fine for now, to maintain a longer life for your valve train an increased rod is better. Valve noise equals friction which equals wear.
This is from Crane remember.
In Calgary, Alberta (where I am from) Parts Source rents rod length measurers for free (150 dollar deposit, but free).
The reason the longer rods are required is: The shorter rods sit about a millimetre inside on the roller of the rocker arm which isn't on the apex for optimal contact and reduced friction.
My mustang shop sells rods that are literally 3-4 millimetres longer and reduce friction, thusly reducing wear.
Thank You for all of your help here.
