Howdy! I have a 2001 Regular cab with 25k miles on it. I had an O2 sensor go out about a week ago, thanks Ford for not leaving me truckless for more than a day, should that have happened or is that a bad sign or what?

Also, the only thing that I have done to my truck, besides the audio, is put in a K&N airfilter. I've been reading and reading and the best thing that i can see would to get a diablo chip. Exactly how much would this effect my truck?
Would I need exhaust? I really don't want to dual out my truck or have it be loud as hell. The audio already is and I have a ticket and a warning to prove it. I'd rather have it be a stealth beast.

An o2 sensor going out on our trucks is not uncommon. The Diablo chip affects performance as you already know.

The chip leans up the air/fuel ratio in your truck to 'free up' more power. The only downside to the chip is that you need to buy nothing but premium gas to use it. It comes with a switch so you can turn it on and off whenever you want. (just in case the gas gets a bit too expensive)

The biggest thing you'll notice is the peak torque curve. You will have a TON more "pull power" vs. more horsepower. But, you will also get a good bit of hp with the chip too.

depends on how heavy of a foot you have I range from 10 mpg (rare) to 24 mpg ( also rare) acg about 18 or so w/ med foot. 16 w/ heavy foot (10 is going up hill against the wind wit hthe pedal in the floor for 200 miles.)

mine used to get 19, I add a k&n and put 285/50/20 tires on it and now it is down to 15-16mpg. my service engine light is on P0401 and i cleaned out the fuel injectors with seafoam, it runs a lot better, idle, accleration, and throttle response. But the light keeps coming back on and I changed the egr valve.
