Tried but couldn't budge. When you turn one wheel one way the other turns opposit. Just some play in the pinion when you hold the other wheel.
Thanks for the input.

Axle code 13 is 2.75 gears, which is what I have too.

My 93' f-150 has the 302, it's a regular cab LWB 4x4; the only difference is I've got a four speed, with the same gearing. I've pulled a flatbed with a 79 Mazda PU, a four horse(loaded), a flatbed with English riding jumps, and an enclosed hauler w/an 87 Mustang GT, I can sure tell the trailer is behind me, but it's not too heavy for the truck( just for the blinker circut ) I can't usually go over 60 but it's no trouble for me, but this isn't really hilly terrain. I'm pretty good w/trailers considering I'm only 18.

My F150 pulls over 15000 lbs with a 302w, 4-speed transmission. You can tell that the trailer is behined you, but its not to much trailer. With that load the truck does sit on the helper springs. She pulls down on some hills but nothing terrible. You just have to know how to drive and shift at the correct times.

you've got a little more to your truck than what came stock, i.e. headers, gears and exhaust, but I do agree, it's also the driver, as much as it's the vehicle, you could have a vehicle set up to pull a tank and if you can't drive then what's the point, get what I'm saying. but with pulling the 24 footer, don't get over zelous, make sure the rig is equipped propperly, a stabilizer will help with suspension, and make sure you've got the confidence to pull it.

Just for laughs the yota and trailer I mentioned above I, ie around 12000 lbs or so I hooked to my Bronco 2 and pulled it around my field for a victory circle that I didn't break anything. It was sitting on the bumpstops but I still had enough on the ground at the front to turn. Very funny to watch I'm sure, but definitely not streetable for that ride.

Yeah the truck is a little beefed up compared to a regular F150. I totally agree with the drivers ability. You have to expect it to pull down with a decent sized load behind ya. Its not like you have a 4 and a quarter cat diesel with a 13- speed.

9k with a 150

I was feeling bored one day with my buddy pat who needed a 81 chevy 2500 trailoring special towed. We couldn't find a dolly, so I borrowed a 28 foot full size trailor and hooked it up to my 89 F-150 XLT Lariat 4X4 302- mazda 5spd long box. We loaded up the truck. The trailors foot stand wasn't moveable(ie it wouldn't retract of remove) it sat about two inches off the ground. Surprisingly the truck pulled it very well. I was in 5th gear doing 45 and it could have gone faster. I surely underestimated my engine. Steering was interested, seeing as how I could have lit up the stars with my headlights! so I stayed about 30 mph most of the time. After I dropped the truck and trailor off, the truck practically accelerated to Mach I, or at least it felt like it. So only about two months later my tranny crapped out, is that a surprise? I wish I had a ZF. Well, thats my story
