Smile help

its a 87 , six cylinder and when I attempt to start the engine the starter stays engaged, so I changed the starter, solenoid and the ignition switch but still get sparks when I connect the positive cable to the battery and the starter wants to engage.

On the starter RELAY theres a wire with a rubber boot (from the ignition switch) when you remove that wire does it stop cranking? If it does that wire is crossed with 12 volts somewhere.
Is it cranking as soon as you connect the battery or after you turn the key to run? BTW always disconnect and reconect the negative cable on the battery not the positive.
