when water gets colder, or rather the molecules move slower, it grows in size, and when the molecules speed up, or it gets warmer, they shrink....
Water is also polar, the perfect solvent, it produces H+ and OH- ions (those are acids) its extremely stable, takes a lot of heat to raise the temperature, has a high heat of vaporization, & fusion.
all life is made from 4 molecules, Carbohydrates, Lipids, proteins, & Nucleic acids.
Humans are Hetertrophs, Plants are Autotrophs, and Bacteria are detritivores.
Heterotrophs can't make their own food, Autotrophs use sunlight to make food, and Bacteria eat the stuff that dies.
Next time you think humans are at the top of the food chain, think again, there are billions of bacteria waiting for you to kick the bucket....

There is a LOT of truth in the interstate system being built as alternate airports !
At least that's what I heard at the consulting engineering firm where I did some atuocad work....
(and all they did was DESIGN some of the interstate systems)

Actually, when people carried around posies, it was because they thought the plauge was caused by bad air. They would smell the flowers, and thought somehow they purified the air. I'm sure the stench of dead folks had something to do with it also. No one at the time knew plauge was caused by bacteria and fleas.
