It's understood that there are some problems...
just like in life, there are problems...
but if ALL you do is complain about them and can't get past it...
Well, even MY angel of a wife would have left me for happier times :-)
I'm sorry if it happened to YOU... it hasn't happened to all of us...
and I promise, the people in Afganistan, Iraq, Iran... MANY other places would LOVE to trade you "problems"...
Jeb....this is why tn mac is viewed as a belly acher and whiner....he is certainly qualified to complain about his truck, but now he is complaining about "all" of them, including mine, which I am very happy with!
I agree that the quote is overly broad by tn mac. "All" is certainly not true as many have trouble free trucks.
But when that is all you do, you get a label. If someone comes on and says something about wanting info, jeb and tn mac, can be counted on to do the doom and gloom about the 6.0. It doesn't end with here is my experience, but continue on about how bad Ford is treating you.
I also understand that my personal opinion is colored by my bad experience with my truck but that does not make my experience any less valid, IMO. It'd be like saying anyone who's had a trouble free truck shouldn't post their opinions. Sorry if you look at my posts as "doom and gloom" but they are factual. If you don't think so, please point out something I've said that isn't.
And my experience with ford and how they're treating me should be of interest to anyone that truely wants balanced input. I did not buy this truck hoping for what I've been through. All I wanted was a reliable truck.
Ford is going to buy back or replace your truck and you still whine.
How am I whining?
Keep in mind ford is being forced to replace my truck. Lots of folks seem to want to give ford some credit for this when they should get none. My buy back is the result of the independent DSB process finding in my favor, not ford stepping up and doing the right thing.
I'm with you bud. My dealings with ford with my truck is a nightmare. And after 1 year and 2 moths the saga continues with the DSB replacement procedure At the dealer level.
Why should a ford customer have to go through all the time and anxiety after a 40,000 dollar investment?
You darn right I'm whining, And today I get my 04.
Thanks for all the info. So far I am extremely happy with my new truck. I'm leaving this weekend for a 2 week road trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed there will be no major problems!
I don't know why so many people think PI does not work in 04 trucks. Mine works just fine.
I just picked mine up from Jeff in NY on July 1. I was under the impression
the '04s didn't have pilot injection. Maybe I'm the lucky one
who has 4 injectors with it and 4 without? Duh. I'm still trying to figure out why it's so quiet with
the key in the off position.....hmmmm.
March 04 build date, very pleased. Had a sqeeky serpentine built, Ford replaced. Now if I could be independently wealthy and wouldn't have to sit behind this desk pretending I'm working, I could be out driving my truck a bunch more. Wake me up, I'm dreamin' again.
I have owned mine for about one month. I have 1200 miles on it. Runs great. Good fuel mileage, about 15 -16 mpg. I hope Ford steps up and fixes your truck. They have ALWAYS taken care of me. I was a diehard Chevy truck man for 33 years until 1999. I will never go back. They spent more time at the chevy garage then at my house. This is my second Ford truck. I loved my F-150 5.4L. We bought a toy hauler for our toys. The F-150 couldn't tow it. The F-250 psd doesn't even know its there. Have a good summer, stay cool
when I was whinning about they all have to many problems I was refering to the problem trucks, not to the many good trucks. it is not as simple as some people would lead you to believe, to get your problems resolved. If you have a good dealer it is a much smoother thing to go throught , but many have poor dealers and are not geeting any help from the ford people. So if I whinning because my truck is constantly in the shop so be it. I know if I was a real ford man I would still say it is a great truck, if thought it is a lemmon. What could I say that is positive, boy this truck gets 12 mpg on the hwy empty and I love it. man my trans brake only works in 3 gears and its the greatest, man I sure am glad ford took away my pilot injection , the point with me is not being negative but factual as many of you guys so ofton call for, if there was any thing about my truck to be positive about then I would ,but as I said before I am basing my expierences on what I have had with my 2 previous psd trucks not the 2004. 500,000 miles and not one problem just regular maint.
Without getting into the technical side of it too much, it's an additional shot of fuel for each cyl that keeps it quiet at idle. Trucks with PI, like the new cummins and dmax, are so quiet at idle that most folks don't even know they're diesels. Many of us had PI on our trucks when we bought them, especially the 03 owners, but it was taken away by ford with one of the re-flashes.
