Thanks to this wonderful site my 4.0 sohc 98 Sport is in the dealership getting the chain guide taken care of!! Actually the dealership is thinking the entire motor needs to be replaced 
Now that would be horrible

I had the same thing happen to my '97 XLT, they eventually had to replace the motor...it's a good thing they did...fun driving again...and I'll be able to keep the truck a lot longer. If they don't want to replace it, take them to court!!
