The ignition actuator rod on my bronco wont return to the off postion unless i grab it and pull it back, the truck starts fine but it wont turn off without me having to manually pull it back , I replaced the ignition switch on the steering column because the truck would'nt start. I have move the switch up and down but it will only start in one postion, changed the lock and tumbler and that didn't help. What makes the rod spring back to the off postion this is becoming a real headache.
It should spring back to the RUN position from the START position, but I have had some vehicles that didn't, so many that I just turn switches by hand nowadays.
All other positions you turn by hand.
There are directions for aligning the switch in most service manuals.
