2000 explorer fuel delivery problem??
I just sold my 2000 Explorer to my cousin and he got 50 miles out of town and it died on him on the highway.
It starts up and idles fine, but when he puts it in drive and pushes on the gas, it dies. He's stuck right now on the interstate waiting for a tow actually.
I was thinking it was the relay, but I told him to tap it and it doesn't do anything. Then I was thinking maybe the fuel filter is just clogged up. It had been sitting for about a month, and I haven't changed the fuel filter in about 18,000 miles. Could it be this simple?
Please help?!!

To check the relay turn the key to the on poissition and you should hear the fuel pump whine. if it doesn't it is the relay. if it is whining then change the fuel filter.
