Please help the noob
I just got a 2001 F150 supercrew for fathersday. Its black, it looks nice, has a REALLY short bed, and is pretty damn slow IMHO. I've been reading for about 2 hours now and, although I've learned alot about chips and superchargers(thnx hkiefus, your experience w/the supercharger was very informative and hilarious. WHERES THE SWITCH?) I am still clueless as to where I should start? If any1 knows of a "Noobs guide to making truck x roast a GSX-R" website i would be very greatful. Suggestions on where to start are more welcome however cuz u guyz is way smart n stuff. I am NOT a mechanic, I'm a carpenter. I do know a mechanic and he works for beer so I think I'm in buisness. Let the flaming begin!!!!!!
I just ran a 17.2 second quarter with my 2000 F-150 XLT with an extended cab and a long bed with a fiberglass (high-rise) camper top on it. It is 100% stock as far as I know.
In all seriousness, you can do the chips and exhaust and air intake
Add a supercharger for about $3000, that will boost your performance up there.
Welcome aboard and have fun! --Mike
