1,720 Miles Round Trip ...16.09 MPG

Got back yesterday from the BIG trip. As stated on topic...1,720 miles @ 16.09 MPG.

IMO this isn't as it should be. Best 16.46 MPG least 15.62 MPG.

Hand calculated taking extreme time to fill up due to foaming and topping off each time.

These results are with Power Service additive and Predator @ 65 H.P. setting.
No tow or load. (3) people in vehicle and luggage was even in the sig. other's gasser that was following.

Typical hywy speed was 78 MPH. Seldom exceeding 80 MPH. Well, maybe if someone aggravated me enough I had to show them that black puff of smoke indicates the after burners kicking in. But, that didn't happen very often.

My in-town is in the 12.5 MPG range.

While I did not go to diesel for the mileage, it was a MAJOR selling point to the sig. other & I am taking a little heat for that. Especailly with the addition of the Predator I expected better.

Interesting observation. No leak on bell since I wipped the goo off the night before the trip.

On another positive note: The sig. other has a stock ricer 3.5...0-60 in 6.3 seconds. Even my Darlin' "likes to go fast" wife is impressed when she kicks the BIG DAWG. In fact, when she was driving was one of the times the cruise came off. Chevy made her mad. Was NOT gonna pass her. @ 92 MPH the Bowtie either surrendered or his limiter kicked in or both. Either way...Momma was happy. And as we all know...

...If the Mamma ain't happy...

IMO that is not bad MPG for that speed.........and it does make a difference.
If you were at 65 you would probably get 17.5/18.6...IMO

That is terrible mpgs my old 7.3 would get 24 on the hwy, with chip and cold air box at 85 mph 4 people and luggage for a week. the new 6.0 just has to stay in the drive as my f250 5.4 shames it on the mpgs 17 mpg hwy.

Don't get me wrong, but I think you better have your 6.0 looked at. On the freeway you should expect atleast 17 mpg from a 6.0; 21 maybe even 22 at the most (if you're lucky).

Been in dealer service once (pre-Predator). Documented mileage compliant for future use if needed. As expected, Service writer said no fix available for MPG. Some do bees good and some don't.

I do want to make it clear though that this is more of a disappointing observation.

At least for now @ 6,400 miles everything else on the Big Dawg is OUTSTANDING. Great Truck. Got her looking pretty good for on the cheap. And yes...I, too, turn around and look at it as I walk away in any given parking lot.

Howdy bighoss...didja miss me? Haven't had a chance to see how you guys are doing with the meth thing.

Well now I am embaressed. I thought the camper package was all about suspension and that I have 3.73's. Now you'll make me check it out. Yeah if I'm in the 4.10 range I can't say anything bad about 16.0 Hywy.

No, gears are not a part of the camper pkg. I have 3.73's on mine w/ the camper pkg.

KW, hopefully the mpg will improve as it gets broken in. Try using Shell for a few tanks and see what happens. My mpg improved by 1.1 with only one tank of Shell.

Hey hunter...hope you had a good 4th. Hit Shell on (2) fuel stops and use at least 75% of the time on at-home fill ups.
