Has anyone had a broken front sway bar mount. Front end shop says that it will take lots of time and money to remove the old one and install a new one so they suggest welding a new one to the frame, but I'm not real happy with that idea. Does anyone know of an after-market support bracket that bolts to the frame. If not I will spend the $$ to fix it right.
If it is the end link, as mistercmk suggested, then go with an Energy Suspension end link kit. Cheaper than Ford's and much better quality. The end links are the long, maybe 8", bolts that the sway bar ends mount to.
If it is in fact the mount that goes to the frame, they sell them at Auto zone also. Energy suspension greaseable urethane mounts. About $20. If there is a broken bolt in the frame all you would need to do is drill a pilot hole in it and then back it out with an easy out. About a 30 min job total. I wouldn't recommend welding!
Thank you for the info. Of course right after I posted, I figured out I did not really know which part of the swaybar system I needing to have fixed. When I can look at it I will fix it right w/o welding anything.
Thanks again
