Why don't you buy the Donaldson or Baldwin filter instead. Not all the Napa filters are the Duralite (I don't know if any of them are anymore) and therefore are not water repellant. The part numbers for those two filters are:
Donaldson part number B058011
Baldwin part number PA2818
I just picked mine up today at carquest and it had a duralite sticker on it and is made by wix so I would assume that it is the same filter as well.

This is from the owner of Tymar posted on another site:
Only Baldwin and Donaldson have the rights to use the patented filter media. A Donaldson filter PA2818 purchased at Napa. Donaldson's reference is a B085011. A PA2818 refers to a Baldwin number. However, Napa's brand is Wix. Wix was purchased several years ago and no longer makes all the Wix brand filters anymore. What you recieve when you buy a filter at Napa may or may not be a Dondaldson or Baldwin. If it is a Donaldson it will say right on it next to the logo. They have a patented filter weave that is hydro-phobic (water resistant) and is part of the reason they have such good test results.
I'm just stating that the filter that I picked up today had a duralite sticker on it and that was what was talked about. My filter only cost me about $26.00 instead of about $40.00 I read some people talking about.

That's about what I pay too, less if I order from Tymar. I just wanted to make folks aware that when you get a Wix filter it's not always the same thing. Around here, noone stocks them so you have to get them special ordered and if it shows up and is the wrong filter then you wait longer.
The part number I used from carquest was 88637 and my part store didn't stock it they had to order it for me so I must be the only one around here that has done this yet.
I just can't believe for as easy as it was to put in that some people are charging a fortune for these type kits when it can be put in your self for much less and it performs just as well in my own opinion.

It's not entirely the same thing. The Tymar itself isn't that expensive and the additional parts replaced my entire air intake up to the breather element outlet. It also comes with a stand that keeps the filter from sitting directly on the fender so that air can flow around the entire filter.
no but for the extra $100 difference I can put alot of air filters on for $100 but a stand would be nice though. I just did mine today and haven't noticed alot of difference except the sound which is cool but we shall see though.
If you want to buy the stand you can buy it seperately from THIS company. They basically duplicated the Tymar intake but they sell it for more money. The mounting band costs $15.80. You can see the breakdown of the cost of the different parts.
