Truck got keyed

I went to the post office yesterday and when I was walking out I caught some old lady keying my truck. About 1.5' on the passenger side door. She noticed me looking at her on my way out of the post office and she took off running. She jumped into her car and sped off. I jumped in my truck and pursued her. She was in some slow *** volvo, no match for the overwhelming power of my 5.8L. I quickly caught her and ran her off the rode. I started cussing her immediately. She claims I cut her off a few weeks ago or something. I've never seen the woman in my life. I said your either giving me money or I'm takin this crow bar to your volvo. So she said she wanted me to follow her to her house to talk to her husband. I said whatever and followed her. On the way she stopped and said she was too scared (for good reason) to take me to talk to her husband so I convinced her to go the police and I would follow her. We talked to the officers and they said I could press charges but they didn't recommend it because they would have to consider that I ran her off the road and would charge me with road rage. So I was like screw that. So now I'm stuck with a huge key mark on my beautiful truck. Damn, I should have just taken the crow bar to her volvo.

I've been having a streak of bad luck. Somebody stole my dog last week. I was at a gas station and my hands were greasy. When I was done gassing my truck up I was gettin into my truck and a big gust of wind came and blew the door out of my hand. The door slamed into one of those concrete poles. Needless to say there is a HUGE dent on my door. Then the next day I loaded my 4 wheeler up and was pulling out of my drive way and backed into my wifes car. Scratched the bumper and totall screwed up the car. Then I went to ride my wheeler and didn't land a jump right and my foot slipped off the peg and my leg got pressed up against the engine. Now I have a print of my engine burnt onto my leg. What next? My truck looked brand new last week now its all beat up.

Beat the Volvo!! Some people would say, "she's old, leave her alone." BS! She's also old enough to know better than to key someones expensive rig! Step 1. Get a long chain. Step 2. Wrap it around her tranny (front wheel drive right?) Step 3. Wrap a chain around your hitch. Step 4. Knuckle it! Problem solved or at least you'll feel better!

I think I'll just take it easy for a month or so. I may get the Volvo. I was pondering the ole steath oil plug removal routine. I need some time to think it over.

Don't get the cops involved at all. Go file a police report and then take her to court. No criminal charges. Viola!

Dude, sorry to hear about your truck. The same thing happened to me last week while my family and I were on vacation. I come home to find that this punk 11 yr old girl wrote with sidewalk chalk all over both sides and the tailgate of my '01 F-250 4x4. She's admitted to doing it. I am pressing criminal charges and taking the mother to court. I've had several problems with this girl's family in the past, now I'm drawing the line, time for some sugar in her mother's gas tank.

You have a lot of repressed hostility and you probably did cut the old lady off. Chalk it up to experience and learn to control your temper. Been there, done that and recognize the signs in your writing. It's not bad luck, it's you!

So if someone cuts me off or is otherwise a rude driver, that gives me the right to go damage their property?

Personnaly, if I saw her doing this to my truck, I'd get the license number, get a police report and give the information to my insurance company so they can make her insurance fix my truck.

Get a report from the police and take her to small claims court ..You will win.
Get estimates to repair the damage.

I concur with 99f350sd. The judge will scold you for chasing the ole coot, but will make her property insurance pay for the damage.
What's wrong with people? What kind of mantallity is it to do property damage without the satisfaction of knowing who did it?
Sweet story, though. Hope your rut is up & gone.

Road Rage my butt. The cops just didnt want to deal with it. That is similiar to a hit and run and you were in the right to chase her down. When a guy hit my sister and drove off with her laying in the parking lot, another guy and I jumped into my dad's V-10 and ran the guy into a ditch. His car was totalled and he wanted to press charges, cops said no way since it was a hit and run.
